How to Create a Report by Category or Purpose
MileIQ makes it easy to generate reports based on specific drive purposes or categories—whether you’re looking for Business-only drives, Personal drives, or any custom purpose you’ve created.
Note: The IRS requires that every drive—even personal ones—have a classified purpose. That’s why MileIQ automatically captures each drive for you to review and classify.
Follow these steps to create a custom report based on a specific drive purpose or category:
✅ Step 1: Classify Your Drives
Before generating a report, make sure all the relevant drives are properly classified.
Go to the Drives tab on the MileIQ Web Dashboard and review the drives you want to include in your report.
🔍 Step 2: Filter Your Drives
At the top of the screen, click the Filter button.
You can filter by:
- Business – to view only business-related drives
- Personal – to view personal drives
- Any Custom Purpose you’ve added (e.g., "Client Meeting", "Commute", etc.)
☑️ Step 3: Select Filtered Drives
Once the list is filtered, use the checkbox next to "# matching drives" in the top row to select all of the displayed drives within your date range.
🧾 Step 4: Create Your Report
After selecting the drives, a multi-drive summary card will appear on the right side of the screen.
Click the Report button in the bottom-right corner.
📤 Step 5: Finalize and Send
Fill in any required details, then choose how you’d like to receive your report:
- Email – Sent directly to the email address associated with your account
- Concur – If you're part of a MileIQ Teams organization using Concur integration
Click Create and Send Report when you’re ready.

You’ll receive your report shortly. You can repeat these steps for any specific category or purpose you've used in classification.
