Managing Drive Detection in MileIQ
MileIQ is designed to track your drives seamlessly, but we understand that there may be times when you want to pause drive detection. Here's how to manage this feature effectively:
Pausing Drive Detection
To pause automatic drive detection:
- Open the MileIQ app.
- Go to Settings > Drive Detection.
- Slide the toggle switch to Paused.
Pausing is particularly useful during activities with motion similar to driving, such as:
- Riding as a passenger in a car, cab, or public transit.
- Cycling or running.
Resuming Drive Detection
To resume drive detection:
- Switch the toggle in Settings > Drive Detection back to Active.
- Alternatively, set up Auto-resume to restart tracking at a specific time.
While paused, a notification card on the home screen will remind you that drive detection is inactive. You can tap Resume Detection at any time to restart tracking.
Note: After unpausing, allow 5–15 minutes for MileIQ to recalibrate and gather accurate location data. Starting a drive too soon may result in it not being recorded correctly.
Why Does MileIQ Run in the Background When Paused?
MileIQ continues running in the background to ensure a smooth experience when you resume tracking. Without this, restarting drive detection could cause delays or other issues.
