How to turn on Location Services (Android)

Why?

In order for MileIQ to accurately detect all of your drives, Location Services need to be set to 'On' and 'High Accuracy' on Android devices. Rest assured that your data is private and will never be shared or sold. You can set your device's Location Services by going to: Settings Security & Location On

You can do so on Android by going to: Settings > Security & Location > Location > On

  • Important - "High Accuracy" mode is required on Android. You can check if it's on by going to Settings > Security & Location > Location > Mode > High Accuracy

In-App Alerts

If location services are enabled but the mobile app is still displaying this warning, then please ensure that High Accuracy is enabled as well. To navigate to the correct settings page, tap Fix it within the app to go to your device's Location Services setting, then tap Mode or Method to change this setting.

Location Settings to Avoid

Setting location services to Power Saving, GPS Only, or Device Only will prevent drive detection from functioning. If you need to stop tracking drives for any reason, it is recommended to pause drive detection from within the mobile app to ensure your drives are captured after un-pausing drive detection: How to pause automatic Drive Detection

Why do I need to grant access to track all my drives when I only need to log drives (business only) for work purposes?

When the app records a drive, there is no way to distinguish whether it was business-related. Therefore, we recommend enabling all settings to ensure that no drives are missed.
