Help: Why Isn’t a Drive Appearing in My Mobile App?

If a drive isn’t showing in the MileIQ mobile app, it’s likely due to one of the following reasons:

🔄 Drive Detection is Paused

Make sure Drive Detection is turned on.

  • In the mobile app menu, check for the word “On” next to Drive Detection.

  • You can also go to Settings > Drive Detection to reactivate it.

Note: It may take a few minutes after unpausing for MileIQ to re-establish your location.

🚫 You’re on a Free Plan and Over the 40-Drive Limit

If you’re on the free Limited plan, you can only view the first 40 classified drives per month.

  • Unclassified drives do not count toward your limit.

  • To free up space, delete unwanted drives instead of classifying them.

  • To see all your drives, you can:

    • Upgrade to a Premium plan, or

    • Wait for your monthly drive counter to reset at the start of the next month.

🕒 Drive Occurred Outside Your Work Hours

If you have Work Hours enabled, you have the option to enable for drives outside of your work hours to be auto classified as Personal and if they are, they won’t appear in the mobile app.

  • You can view and reclassify these drives from the MileIQ web dashboard.

🔁 Drive Was Auto Classified as a Frequent Drive

If you’ve driven a route at least three times and set it up as a Frequent Drive, MileIQ may automatically classify it for you.

  • These drives may not appear in your main view, but you can find and reclassify them under:

    • All Drives in the mobile app

    • Or in the web dashboard

📏 The Drive Was Too Short

Very short trips are often not captured:

  • Drives under 0.5 miles (0.8 km) — and sometimes under 1 mile (1.6 km) — may not be recorded.

📍 How MileIQ Detects Drives

MileIQ uses a combination of cellular data, Wi-Fi, location services, and passive GPS to detect when you start driving. It sets up a geo-fence (a virtual perimeter) around your location and begins monitoring when you leave that area. From there, our drive processor determines what counts as a valid drive.

🛠 Need to Add a Missed Drive?

You can manually add any missed drives through your MileIQ web dashboard.
