How to Name Your Locations

How to Name Your Locations

The Named Locations feature in MileIQ helps you easily identify, sort, and manage drives to your most-visited destinations. By assigning unique nicknames or specific addresses, you can streamline your reporting process. A Named Location applies to all drives within a 0.4-mile aerial distance of the designated spot, making tracking and reporting much simpler.

You can add Named Locations using either the mobile app or the web dashboard.

Adding Named Locations on the Mobile App

  1. From an Unclassified Drive:
    • View any unclassified drive card.
    • Tap the automatically generated location name.
    • Enter your desired nickname in the text field and tap Done.
    • Suggested names may appear based on the location of the drive.
  2. Renaming Existing Locations:
    • Changing a location’s name will update the custom name for all past and future drives to that location.
    • To create a new label for a current Named Location:
      • The new name will only apply to future drives, while previous drives retain the original custom name.
  3. Through the Named Locations Menu:
    • Go to Settings at the bottom of the app.
    • Navigate to Named Locations under the Personalization section.
    • Add or edit Named Locations as needed.
