How to create a custom Drive purpose

MileIQ makes it easy to label your drives however you'd like with the Custom Purpose feature!

You can set up a custom purpose from within the mobile app, or from the web dashboard (same email and password as the app).

Mobile App

To enable custom purposes in the mobile app, tap on Menu > Account Settings > Custom Purposes.

You can create a new Business purpose at the top of the screen or scroll down to add a new Personal purpose.

Enter your custom purpose in the text field that appears and tap done. After you've entered your custom purpose in the text field, your new custom purpose will appear in the list.

To hide a custom purpose, click on Edit at the top right corner. Click on '-' next to the desired custom purpose, and then 'Hide'. Purposes can be rearranged by holding and dragging the icon with the 3 parallel bars.

To edit a custom purpose, simply tap on the name to bring up the keyboard and replace the name as needed.

Web Dashboard

Once logged in to the Web Dashboard, click on Settings in the left menu panel.

Under the Custom Purposes section of the Settings page, you will see all the default purposes for Business and Personal classifications. At the bottom of each column is a blue 'Add Purpose' button. Click the button for the appropriate column and a text field will appear.

Enter your new purpose and click 'Save' to add your new purpose.

A confirmation message will appear at the bottom confirming your new purpose has been saved.

Once the new purpose is added, you can prioritize your purposes by clicking and dragging the purpose using the 'arrows' to the left of the purpose name.

Congratulations! You've created a custom purpose. You may now classify your drives from the web dashboard and the mobile app using your custom purpose.

You can edit the name of any custom purpose by clicking on the name, then editing it as needed.

Any drives classified with a custom purpose will show up on reports when the drives are exported to PDF, CSV or Concur.

Additional Information

  • You can hide any unused purposes by tapping on the eye icon and then "Hide" on the Custom Purposes page within the web dashboard.
