Why is sales tax being added to my subscription?
At the end of May, MileIQ is expanding sales tax collection to additional jurisdictions, in compliance with applicable local and national tax regulations. This means that depending on your billing address, sales tax may be added on top of your subscription price going forward.
Why is this changing?
Tax regulations around digital services and SaaS subscriptions have evolved significantly in recent years, and many jurisdictions now require platforms like MileIQ to collect and remit sales tax directly. This brings MileIQ in line with how tax is already applied when subscribing through Apple App Store or Google Play.
Will everyone be affected?
Not necessarily. Whether sales tax applies — and at what rate — depends on your location and local tax laws. If tax applies to your account, it will be calculated automatically based on the billing address associated with your subscription.
How much will I be charged?
The tax amount will vary by jurisdiction. You'll always be able to see the full breakdown — base price plus applicable tax — before and after renewal, in your billing receipt.
Where can I update my billing address?
You can review and update your billing address in your account settings at mileiq.com/account or through the MileIQ app.
