Overview
If a driver on your team has an existing Unlimited subscription and joins your Teams account, your team account may receive a credit for the unused time on their individual subscription. This article explains how credits are calculated, issued, and redeemed.
When Are Credits Issued?
Credits are automatically issued in the following scenarios:
- A driver with unused time on an active Unlimited subscription joins a paid Teams plan. The driver must confirm that their Unlimited subscription was paid for by their company/employer (either through a company credit card or a reimbursed expense).
- If you are the admin for the Teams account and have unused time on your Unlimited subscription, a credit will be automatically issued to you, as well.
Credits Are Only Issued When:
- There is a paid Teams subscription. Credits are not calculated when a subscription is in a trial period. If you end up converting into a paid subscription, credits will be calculated and issued at that time.
How Are Credits Calculated?
Credits are based on the number of calendar days remaining in the driver’s Unlimited subscription at the time they accept an invitation to join the team, or when the first invoice is paid, if they had previously accepted an invite. The total credit amount is determined by:
- The cost of the driver’s Unlimited subscription.
- The unused portion of the subscription (days remaining).
- The number of drivers who have accepted invites at the time of calculation.
How Are Credits Redeemed?
- The credit will be automatically applied to the team’s future invoices.
- Future invoices for the team will use the credit balance first.
- If an invoice amount is less than or equal to the credit balance, no charge will be made to the payment method on file.
- If an invoice amount exceeds the credit balance, the remaining amount will be charged to the payment method on file.
- If your team is currently in a free trial, we cannot apply credit to your first billing to upgrade the team, since credits are only calculated based on the number of drivers and the unused time in their subscription after you have upgraded from the trial.
How Will Admins Be Notified When a Credit Is Applied?
Admins will be notified via email as individual drivers join the team and credits are applied.
What Happens to Unused Credits If the Teams Subscription Is Canceled?
Any remaining credit balance is forfeited upon cancellation of the Teams subscription. If you have any questions about this, feel free to contact us at support@mileiq.com.
